Two-tuner picture-in-picture with split-screen display lets you view 2 programs at once by dividing the screen in half down the middle. Each program is shown at full height, with one program on the left side and the other on the right.

Movie sources get their due with Panasonic's 3:2 pulldown reversal feature, Progressive Cinema Scan. This enhancement compensates for motion artifacts that sometimes result from the telecine process that's used to convert film's 24-frames-per-second to an NTSC-friendly 60 frames per second. Other picture-enhancing features include horizontal and vertical edge correction and a motion-adaptive 3D Y/C digital comb filter, which eliminates "hanging dots" and color rainbow effects in closely spaced patterns.

"What a mistake" 2009-10-19

My husband and I bought this t.v. for my parents as a gift to them for helping us remodel our kitchen. We bought it in December 2005.

We are now the proud owners of the television after they received notice that the bulb needed to be replaced. Again. The first replacement bulb (7/07) set them back $450! On a $1200 t.v.! Acc to Panasonic, the bulb is now *only* $250.

Bottom line: instead of forking out another $250, and spending good money chasing a crappy product, they went out and bought a new Sony plasma t.v.

I'm embarrassed that I bought such a pile of junk for my parents. I stuck to a brand name because I thought the quality would be better. Boy was I wrong. Panasonic should be ashamed of themselves for soaking people hundreds of dollars for a part that probably costs them $10.

I realize this TV is no longer available, this might serve to be more historical than anything else.

We have had this TV for 4 years now. I know exactly when we got this, it was during the 2004 ALDS series against Los Angelos. I am a Red Sox fan, this is a time frame that I can never forget. Our previous TV (a 27" Sony that we'd gotten when we were married in 1993) had picked that week to go flakey, at one point everything was red and that wouldn't do.

So we've had this TV now for four years. Two days ago this interesting nag message has appeared when we start the set, it tells us that we have to replace the bulb and reset the bulb timer. It is just a nag screen, you can get past it, but not with our Harmony remote (so we had to go on a treasure hunt to find the original remote...).

I am now searching for a replacement bulb, holding my breath, thinking it will cost $300 - $400 to replace. My first Google search showed from $125 - $177, not bad for 4 years.

We are a family of 5, we really don't watch that much TV (obviously if we can go 4 years). This is our only TV set in our house so it gets all the use of TV, DVD, VCR, Wii, Playstation, etc.

The TV was perfect for our family room, we sit about 10' from the set, 43" is about as large as I'd wanted to go, any bigger and (at the time) the image would appear too blocky. HD images are absolutely stunning on this screen. I tend to favor HD channels only when I do watch TV, I only watch/buy widescreen DVDs too. I haven't tried BluRay or the like with this set, though I have no reason to think it wouldn't be as stunning as HD channels.

I only gave this 4 stars because a lot of detail is lost in low light images (this might just be the bulb too, I will find out in the next week).

Two of the features that I liked when we got this (it beat out a Sony) was the memory card slot for viewing photos and the computer inputs on the side. I used the memory card input once (I think the first day or two of getting it). I used the PC input once also. Four years later and I just remembered it had the memory card slot while searching for the model number.

So here's the skinny, after 4 years it is still kicking, I think we could probably go along another month or so before we replace the light, though I will most likely order its replacement tonight (Murphy's law would put the time it dies during an important Patriot's Game or something like that). We are kicking around the idea of a 2nd TV (wow, fast lane here) for our bedroom and Panasonic is at the top of my list during my research (though that will be a true flat screen LCD panel).

So, I hope this either helps someone looking at a used set or Panasonic in general.

After seeing the picture postcard like LCD displays in many stores, I fianlly gave in to the temptation of buying a HD LCD tv - and what a tv it is!

I am glad I listened to my friend who has had this set for a year and a half.

Was surprised to see the rating that this tv has on amazon. Looking closer, I found that some of the negative rating were for other Panasonic tv's and not this one. A goof up somewhere.

Singling out any one feature may do injustice to the many this one has to offer. Let me explain each on its own merit:

1. Picture: First thing that would bowl anyone out is the picture quality - crisp picture, great rich colors, excellent contrast, just too pleasing to the eyes. To compare the video from different sources:

a. HD Cable channels: This tv enhanced the clarity of the HD channels even further, when comparing to some of the pictures I have seen in TV stores.

b. Standard TV channels: The TV has a "normal" video mode for watching standard width format SDTV programs. Standard TV channels look very preety good on this TV, easily comparable to my old Sony Trinitron.

Room Lighting effect: The TV has 3 main preset modes for different lighting conditions. Vivid is great in a well lit room. The Normal mode is good in "drawing room" dimly lit conditions. The cinema mode brings home the theatre in low light conditions. Plus, the TV has good manual setting controls to change the picture "look" as per user tastes.

2. Sound: After setting this TV up, I did not feel the need for connecting my Onkyo speakers for a month after listening to the surprisingly good sound from this set. With the speakers lying around and the availability of so many slots for hooking these up behind the TV set, I did make the connection. Luckily my neighbours are on vacation.

3. Looks: The TV, with the matching stand looks stunning. With its low depth, it is as good as a flat panel TV for people who do not want to hang it on the wall.

4. Remote: The remote is very easy to use and has a lot of controls on it. It was easy for my fingers to get used to this one after being trained to use the Sony for so many years.

5. Controls: The TV has manual and auto channel tuning. You would love the search option where by it keeps showing a small window of 3 channels on the side which playing the cahnnel you want to see on the big part of the screen. Thus I do not miss any action while watching the TV guide for what's next!

6. Connectivity: It is easy to hook up the HD box, computer, DVD player, Tivo Xbox and everything else together on this box. It has multiple s-video, component and composite slots.

The TV offers these video connect options to connect the source to the TV. These are listed below in the order of quality, the best listed first:

7. Extras: SVGA cable is inside the pacakage, saves a few good dollars.

8. Bulb Life: A few reviews here said that the bulb has a short life. They have mentioned a differnt TV model and not this one. Mine has been good since I bought it and my friend has not had to replace it for 18 months now.

9. Computer monitor: I used the SVGA cable to hook my computer to this TV. With a wireless mouse/keyboard set, am able to use my computer without moving a muscle. What I love even more is that I can surf the net and watch my favourite sport together on the same huge screen.

This product is highly recommended!

"Excellent TV" 2005-12-03

I've had this set for almost a year and it's been great. The picture is great in Hi-Def and it is good at displaying at non Hi-Def as well. The main complaint others have seems to be the bulb wearing out, mine hasn't yet. And, I think the sound is pretty good.

Update: this TV is now close to 4 years old (I think) and no blown bulbs yet.

I have to agree with the review Kiril wrote. I'm quite happy with the Panasonic PT-43LC14...I've had it now for 10 months and have had no problems. TV programs can look grainy at times, but I believe this is to be expected with a larger screen. I bought the tv for watching dvds and have been quite happy. The speakers have a bit of trouble with low frequencies in that the speakers will rattle, but I'll be buying a home theatre system one day. There are a multitude of connectors on the back, and you can even connect your computer to the tv. Great for games!

I did purchase the 5 year warranty with the set, so if *anything* goes wrong in that time, it will be replaced for free! It was $475, but worth it IMO, when you consider one of those lamps are $300. Plus the peace of mind is also nice.

Overall, I'm not sorry I purchased this set.

I really love all the features on this tv... but what I really wanted to share is that Panasonic gave us superb customer service with this unit! We purchased this tv in Nov. of 2005. About two years ago we noticed a green spot about the size of a baseball on the tv that never went away. After awhile the spots started to multiply (6 green spots and 2 blue spots as of Jan 09). I finally had enough and called Panasonic and they fixed it for free! Sent a tech to my home and extended the warranty to cover the problem! They said that they reprogrammed an eprom--but whatever, go Panasonic!

I purchased my TV from Costco for [...] a few weeks ago.

I spent extensive time researching the different types of flat screen tvs and the pros and cons of each.

Currently, I feel the rear projection televisions are the best for the cost.

Here is a brief explanation why:

1. Near impossible to get burn in. You can, but you almost have to try to make it happen. I have only read of one review where the fella actually ran his at 4:3 constantly. Of course you are going to get some type of burn in on the left and right hand sides of the picture.

2. Picture quality is very good. I have noticed that the plasma is a bit crisper, but in all seriousness, you can't really notice a considerable difference unless you are viewing the new dvds.

3. Cost Cost Cost. The 42" plasma panasonic is the same exact price, and has roughly half the lifetime if treated correctly.

4. HDMI/SD. This TV doesn't have the common glitch that a lot of the sony and samsong sets do when trying to switch from an incoming HDMI connection to any other type. I am free to swap between my HDMI dvd player, to my playstation 3, and then to my standard Digital Cable connection. This was the main deal breaker between this and the Samsong rear projection television.

As far as cons go, I can only find the usual in all flat screen televisions.

1. Viewing closer than 3 feet is not good. And at hard angles, for example, lying flat on the floor, can be a bit harsh.

Since it has been in my home, I have placed it on a corner in the living room and can view it without a problem within the full 90 degrees of the room without noticing any distortion. No signs of burn in and it still runs flawlessly.

I would recommend this television, or any of the other same style panasonic rear projection LCD televisions.

If you are looking for the standard flat without the deeper back I would recommend going towards the Panasonic plasma televisions. I checked the 42" model out extensively and found it to be superb in view and style, as well as input switching.

"Breaks a lot" 2009-10-31

We had to replace the lamp a few times in 4 years. The lamps are very expensive: 250 dollars. We also experienced other problems that we had to fix. Once turned on the picture appears slowly - about a minute. If it was turned off and then turned on again, you need to wait three minutes for the TV to start working, which is very annoying.

i have only had the HDVT for a little over a year - and i do NOT watch that much TV. Yet - i see a line (red) running through my TV - totally unacceptable for more than $2,000 spent - when my prior LCD lasted 5 years (and I bought the FLOOR MODEL), and my OLD Zenith TV - old school - had beautiful picture for 10 years. disappointed. My brother's HDTV looked just fine - wish I had read more reviews first - but had heard very good news...

I own one and every single Panasonic PT-50LC13 has a defective ballast that overpowers the bulbs. We received 1500$ for warranty to buy new flatscreen luckily, but it was originally 3,000$. I've replaced the bulbs with 4-5 oem new panasonic bulbs and even tried generic ones, but they always die very quickly especially when kids or guests switch the T.V. on and off before the 45 min cool down period! So don't buy from anyone who is trying to sell you this load of junk.

"Easily the Worst TV Ever!" 2008-08-09

Bought this in 2003. Within the first year, blew a bulb and required a new optical engine. (The optical engine is the heart if the TV-set and will cost about $2k+). After that it was a new bulb every 9 mo.+, at $300 a lamp. Thank God for the extended service contract!

Finally, in 2007 the ballast went out. After two mo.+ no ballast repair/replacement available. Ultimately, and after some haggling, the extended service contract basically refunded the initial purchase price for the TV.

I have moved on since. Lesson learned: never another Panasonic TV in my living room...

P.S.: Without an extended warranty on a, at that time, $4k purchase, I'd be severly "unhappy". Thank God, the extended warranty came thru all the way!

I've had this TV for 2.5 years and it has held up well.

It does have a problem with the EPROM getting corrupt. This will happen probably after year 2. You will get 2"-4" red, blue or green spots on the TV that shows up with certain lighting. The spots are static in that it stays at the same area.

Hats off to Panasonic. They did own up to the problem and repaired it out of warranty. The fix was fairly quick....15 minute process to upgrade (reprogram) the EPROM.

I did research for a little over a year before opting for the Panasonic PT-61LCX65 television. I have had this TV for almost three years and have had no problems with it. The picture is great whatever the source input I have used. I have a Panasonic surround sound system hooked up to it and that has increased my enjoyment of DVDs emmensely. I have a Playstation 2 hooked up to it and everyone enjoys playing the games on it. Last night I watched the movie Transformers on it and enjoyed it as much as I did in the movie theatre. I plan on purchasing a DVD player with the upconvert feature using the HDMI connection shortly. I have not been disappointed at all with this purchase.

I've spent about 3 to 4 months trying to decide what kind of big screen TV to buy. With so many options available (plasma, DLP, LCD, etc.), buying a TV can be a head-splitting task. However, after considering what I want out of a big screen TV as well as my budget, I finally decided that this TV is the way to go. One drawbacks I read with LCD projection TVs is the "screen door effect" which is really obvious if you are sitting close to the TV. Since I'm at a comfortable distance away from the TV, I don't see this at all. Overall, the picture quality is awesome. I have yet to subscribe to HDTV (Charter Communications has a waiting list...sheesh!)...but the picture is excellent for standard TV reception. The picture is even better with DVDs and games (I have hooked up a Gamecube and PS2 to this). I think one of the reviewers below mentioned the price of the stand...yes, it is somewhat pricey...but you don't really much of an option since the manual states that this is the stand they recommend for the TV...and if you're putting down this much money on a TV, it's best to spend a little extra to ensure that the whole thing doesn't topple over. The Panasonic stand comes with features to prevent the TV from tipping over...or you can also chain the TV to the wall (I swear...this is in the manual). So if you're looking for a nice big screen TV for a reasonable price, this TV is the way to go.

Summary: I have been looking to purchase a big screen HDTV for the past year. After some initial research last year, decided to waited another year to let the LCD technology mature and HDMI technology become common on TVs.

This past 4 months, I looked at Sony 3LCD TVs and Toshiba DLP TVs very closely. Sony has good picture but did not have picture-in-picture in this years models and styling looked decades old. Toshiba's 1080P TV was very good with a ton of inputs and comparable pricing but somehow I did not feel comfortable with the Toshiba brand. My research indicated that almost all major brands have good picutre quality so the deciding factor came down to other features like inputs, pip and brandname. The picture quality in Best Buy and circuit city did not look close to what I get at home with a progressive scan DVD. For some reason, the stores want to sell Sonys more than anything else so they hookup Sony with best input and cables and leave Panasonic with ordinary cables making it look inferior.

I have been a Sony or Panasonic brand customer so I decided to buy a Panasonic. For some reason, Panasonic does not have many LCD projection models and this was the only newer one in the 55+inch range. I was very impressed with the features ( sleek design, pip, inputs, sd card reader ) and price.

I am an avid internet shopper but for reason did not feel comfortable making such a huge purchase online but the price difference between bricks and mortar shops to internet shops like Amazon compelled me to take a chance. The TV was delivered in perfect condition and they even set it up in the room of my choice. The TV design looked much better at home ( up close ) than in stores. It weighs a lot less than my old 27inch tube TV.

HD Picture:

I hooked a $20 HD antenna to the TV and boy, was I impressed with the picutre quality? Local HD channels looked lifelike. I just could not believe my eyes. This is using a co-axial cable and NOT HDMI. I am glad I did not fork over a fortunate for a Plasma TV because the HD picture quality is just as good as that of a plasma TV.

DVD Picture:

Make sure you get a Progressive Scan DVD player to enjoy good quality movies. The quality won't be as good as HD but it is very good. I used component video cables to connect my DVD player. I could see significant difference in picture quality between a regular DVD player with composite cables and a progressive scan DVD player with component cables.

SD Picture:

SD picture ( Dish network ) quality is more than satisfactory. It is not as good as my old tube TV but that is expected and I am very happy with the quality. There is even a significant difference in picture when connected using S-Video or composite cables. I just wish there was an additional co-axial cable input so that I can hook both the antenna and the dish receiver using co-ax cables.

For now, I have not decided whether to upgrade to HD receiver from dish or wait because I heard that the output from dish network HD receiver is something like 480p and there are not a lot of HD channels available outside of local channels.

I am sitting about 10-15 feet from the TV. I do not notice a lot of grainy pixels from less than 10 feet also although it is not wise to sit that close. HD picture look great from any distance.

The remote is very easy to use. The SD card reader is handy although I noticed that it is better to view your picture on a laptop than on a TV. It is just painfully slow on a TV when compared to a computer. The SD card reader can be useful when you don't have a computer(laptop) handy.

I have not used the PC input yet. I don't intend to use a 61 inch screen as a my PC input anyways.

The TV does not look big in my family room as I suspected. The TV is much smaller than a 60inch Sony model and looks 100times better. It is a great upgrade for me and the details I could notice on this TV are stunning. As I said before, I love the HD picture on this TV. I watched a Pistons game the other day in HD and it was better than being in the stadium :) The detail on the big screen was just awesome. I watched the SuperBowl on ABC in HD with digital audio connected to my Bose surround system and it was simply a superb experience. HD picture is just as good as on a Plasma TV.

Overall, this is a great TV. I am glad I purchased this over Sony.

bright & crisp picture quality, greate design, good quality sound, good contrast ratio, 3lcd technology gives true colors, easy to select inputs, 4 comonent, 4 composite, 1 hdmi gives more flexibility to have more devices. sd photo card reader is excellent, pc input gives more flexibility to connet your computer. hdtv inbuild tuner, cablecard ready what not, it has everythin you need with great price, this product canbe compared with the most expensive tv's, this tv can sit any place in your home, you can watch the tv in any lighting conditions. i am really liking this tv since last one week, i recommend this tv. only thing i did not like is Stand, it is simply $599.

Good value for the price. Picture is quite good with DVD's and very good with HD input. The Sony 23" has somewhat better detail and image quality for significantly more money. The Panasonic also lacks an HDMI input, which may or may not be important to you.

I found a rather modest improvement in image quality in moving from S-Video to Component Video inputs -- which is not too surprising, given this small screen size.

I had to replace my 22 inch version of this set with this new one, and it lives up to the superb Panasonic reputation. Rock solid colors almost better than nature itself, easy to set-up (in less than five minutes) two component inputs and three video inputs (all with interchangeable lettering, and the ability to skip an input if you do not need it) four tiny speakers that will blow you out of the room, and a substantially better picture than the smaller set. If you are buying an LCD set this year look no further than this masterpiece. You will NOT be sorry!

I am very pleased with the purchase of this tv. The number of features far exceed the competition, and the quality of the sound and picture leave the competition in the dust.

Four speakers below the screen enable this 26" flat panel to fit into spaces other units only dream about.

Brilliant picture quality on all settings, though I use "normal" to save the life of the bulb. Imagine, a replaceable bulb! Suddenly, this tv is a non-disposable, again, far better than the competition.

Easy to set up, not too heavy, brilliant picture quality. Not much more you could ask for.

I bought this in March of 2006 as a lot of stores seem to be clearing it out for newer product lines. I could not be more pleased. I spent a lot of time comparing it to the Sony 26" Bravia which was also being reduced in price. In the end, I just preferred the picture of this so much more. Sony's have nicer reds, but I find the Panasonic has better balance overall. I use this with a DVD Component feed, Xbox Component feed, Tivo S-Video feed, and regular coax cable. The component feeds are obviously superior especially for widescreen movies. The coax/s-video feeds are excellent and not as grainy as I expected for scaled-up images. One more thing, I have a tiny condo living space, and this thing is perfectly compact and compliments my modern space.

pro's: for the money this thing cannot be beat. i absolutely love it. great picture, alot of neat features like a pc connector and a sd slot. has plenty of diverse inputs and a few outputs to accommodate almost any home environment.

con's: only has 1 hdmi slot, it really needs more than 1. i would like PIP but i see no real reason to gripe about it. one more thing, the sound is kind of lackluster but most peeps that spring for a big tv usually get a surround soud system. so if u buy it get a surround soud system.

at first i was going to give it 4 b/c of the 1 hdmi slot but IMO the tv you are getting for the $$$$ far outweighs that 1 flaw. all panasonic need to do is in their next model, put more hdmi slots in it and if they want it to be perfect IMO add PIP.

Don't buy anything Vizio.I bought the 37" version of this thing. It comes with a 1 year warranty. The Panel (picture Tube) failed 5 weeks after the warranty was up. Vizio makes no replacement part and claims it is so expensive you would buy a new one in stead anyway. I talked to as high a level manager (national director of customer non-service)as they would connect me to asking for some consideration on a $750 HDTV they now say is junk in less than 14 months. Their answer: "that's not our policy", go buy a new one. Well I did, a Sony.

I could not resist buying an 32-inch LCD Flat-Panel for $600 on sale. However, for some reason on a music channel the sound would go in and out. Before it went out, it would make a clicking noise. A Vizio repairman came and replaced the motherboard. This did not correct the problem. Instead, a different problem emerged. In addition to the old sound problem, now when the TV turns on, it is automatically muted.??? Have tried to get back in touch with Vizio customer service but have been given the run around. No one in the company seems to be able to connect us to the right customer service dept and then when we called the dept, no one returned the message we left. Trust me it's not worth the hassle. Just pay the extra $200 for a better brand and be able to sit down and enjoy your TV in peace.

My mother has had this TV for a little less than 2 years. A thoughtful neighbor bought it for her after my father died. Recently the picture contrast has gone all red and the TV is impossible to watch. TV repair technician said this TV is not reliable and they see problems with this brand all the time that are more expensive to fix than the TV is worth. A TV at any price should last a good long time. I will replace my mom's TV, but with any brand but Vizio. I will never buy a Vizio product at any price.

"Worked great for first 2 years" 2008-05-15

The T.V. was fine for the last two years, it is in the bedroom and doesn't see that much service. This morning I went to turn it on and nothing happened. The little amber light is on, so it looks like its getting some power. Checking the web I find this is a common problem with Vizio. So it looks like the main board is bad and it'll cost at least $150 for the part and hopefully it fixes the problem and I don't do any additional damage when I swap it out - lol. Some people were taking it to the shop and getting quotes of $400. I have never had a new T.V. go out this soon. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE !!!!!!

This TV is Great! Picked it up at SAMS Club for 578.00. This thing pretty much set itself up without too many commands from me. We have basic cable with what we thought were only a few channels available but, when we plugged the Vizio in, it automatically scanned for veiwable channels and now we have about 10 more channels than we had before. If your looking for a good looking, affordable, easy to use TV, this is it! The menus are pretty easy to use and actually make sense. Also, in most menus there is a reset option in case you get lost and can't remember what you changed. We also have the Bose 321 system with HDMI (wich looks amazing) and Roku (netflix) with HDMI and pretty soon the PS3 with HDMI. It just so happens there are 3 conveniantly placed HDMI inputs on the TV. Hands down, one of the best decisions I've made in a while

I purchased this tv about two weeks ago and i love it. the backlight and brightness control are outstanding way better than other similar brands. the sound is good especially for a flat panel. the picture quality is great. the menus are not as fancy as say a sony but at this price you cant complain. this tv is also half the weight of most 32" tvs i have seen. i love it and would highly recommend purchasing. plus it is made in the USA.

I purchased a 42" flat screen tv a few years ago, and was naturally concerned about what to do after the 1 year manufacturer's warranty had expired. The store offered its own extended warranty program, but I was hesitant about putting down hundreds of dollars for a 3 year extended warranty. Surely there was something more economical with the same, or better service?

I heard, via word of mouth, of a third-party alternative called Squaretrade. Intrigued, I checked reseller ratings, and was very shocked to see a lifetime rating of 9.7. I read many of the reviews, and they all consistently praised ST's dedication to fulfilling its warranty promises. Of the few that were not pleased with ST service (and some of them were the customer's fault), I was impressed by the follow-up messages left by ST's representatives to resolve the situation.

Convinced, I ended up purchasing a 3 year warranty through Squaretrade, for just ~$40. ST runs monthly %-off discounts, so you can always get a very good bargain. To clarify, if I remember correctly, the 3 year warranty is really a 2 year warranty, since the first year overlaps with the first year of the manufacturer's warranty. However, you should read the fine print to double check.

Talk about knocking on wood. My TV broke recently, and so I submitted my claim form to ST, which primarily comprised faxing a copy of my receipt to them (don't throw it away!), and describing my problem. I was expecting a reply a few months later, but Squaretrade promises resolution in less than week. I was shocked to find in my email inbox, a message from ST indicating that since it was cost prohibitive to ship my TV back to them for repairs, they would instead be refunding my original purchase price in its entirety, through PayPal. Sure enough, the money was sent the next day.

This is legendary service, the kind consumers dream about. You can buy a ST warranty with complete confidence, and be assured of their guarantees. Regarding TVs, they will not cover certain issues, e.g. burn-in on a plasma, and lamp replacements on DLPs. Again, check the fine print (don't worry, there's not too much to read).

I'm going to be buying all my warranties through ST in the future, recommending them to my friends and families, and making sure my children, and my children's children buy Squaretrade warranties. I wholeheartedly recommend them (and no, I'm not getting paid by ST to write this review).

I bought the Panasonic 32" LCD TV from Amazon.com and the price was right, the delivery was fast and the product arrived in great shape. I had no trouble setting the unit up and the color was great. The sound is great and no troubles have come about. It was good to work with Amazon and so I give this TV two big tumbs up in quality and performance (well worth the purchase). I especially like how light these LCD TV's are compared to my old Sony Analog TV which felt like a ton.

Puchased this in December 07 to replace a 20" Panasonic tube TV (which still works great). I also purchased a Panasonic VCR/DVD Recorder. The two work excellent together through something called EZSYNC. It basically combines the two units into one logical unit, with one remote control. The quality is excellent, especially with non HD channels. It appears to "upvert" the standard analog pictures to at least 480P (DVD quality). It's hard at this point comment on one component (the TV), but I will say the tuner is excellent, as well as the picture and sound. I could not ask for anything better except for 1080i, but for this size, it would be difficult to notice the difference, and even then, there would be no difference unless you were watching BlueRay.

It is now June 2008, and this set is wonderful! If you have a living room that is 12x17 or smaller, this is great! . The controls are good, however, if you use playstation, or need to connect video, not too convenient..On the side... I love Panasonic..The sound is great, the picture is great.I am still very happy with this set. I can now see this set without my glasses! (well except for letters)

Highly recommended for a great view and sound! Sound is very very important to me...I have extremely sensitive hearing. Panasonic is the best in this category.

I'm new to this HDTV thing, so I was expecting a super crisp, clear image. I'm using a DVD player which is connected using either s-video or component. It seems to me the image could be crisper. Not sure if this is a failure of the TV or the DVD.

Also, I don't enjoy watching movies that are stretched out. We change the aspect ratio each time we watch a movie to see what works best. We may need an HDTV DVD player... not sure if that will allow us to use the full resolution it's capable of.

I purchased this TV at my local Circuit City store at Christmastime when there was a good sale promotion going on. Like many of the reviewers, I did some preliminary research beforehand and found the Panasonic to be a good value for its features and price range. Sure, we'd all like the bling, bling of Sony! But since this was a second TV for our bedroom, we based our decision more on value/price. (Previously we had an ancient 12-inch tube TV/VCR combo so to us this was a major upgrade.) With that said, overall this has been a good purchase and I would recommend this TV as an addition to the home. Not sure I would want it as my primary TV, but for someone just starting out and on a budget it would certainly be a contender. The picture is clear and the controls are straightforward. Good sound quality. This is also the TV that our family plays PS2 on, so from a gaming perspective, it's also a winner. A couple constructive criticisms: 1) I'm constantly hitting the volume instead of the channel button because they are opposite of all the other TV remotes we have or have had in our house. 2) I found the instruction manual to be less than helpful. It's great for "out of the package" set up. But for trying to figure out some of the advanced features or delving deeper into the menu settings, forget it. And the Panasonic website wasn't a help either. When I typed the model number into the category search, this TV didn't even come up. Strange, since it's only a few months old. After digging around, I found some information, which was not much more helpful than the manual. 3) Lastly, I don't use this TV with a cable box, and I had some difficulty receiving/setting up the HD channels. Not everyone is aware that you can receive HD channels without a cable box. And this TV is capable of picking up the HD channels without a box. However, because the manual is not very helpful in explaining how to program analog and HD channels, I had some difficulty. With some tinkering and guesswork, I was able to eventually get them programmed. Panasonic has a solid reputation and is rated pretty well for reliability. They just need to put a bit more time and thought into writing their manuals!

This TV is EXCELLENT. Great sound and picture. It sync'd with my digital cable box fairly easily. No dislikes. I bought this TV sight unseen based on reviews and was not disappointed.

The only concern was the condition of the the box when it arrived. The package came embedded within a larger package with popcorn styrofoam in between. The outer box looked pretty beat up (DHL was the shipper) in fact I took pics of the box prior to opening it for documentation purposes if there was damage. In the end, all was well. I ordered on a Sunday night and it arrived by the following Thursday.

To evaluate this TV, just watch CSI Miami in HD. The colors and clarity are amazing. I will finish by saying that I normally don't do these product reviews unless I am truly impressed by a product.

Happy to say ST works and works quickly. Under the counter TV/DVD system stopped working. ST had us ship the unit (they paid for it) to them and provided a full refund of the purchase price. Is this the same TV reviewed by others on Amazon.com? I give an unequivocal 5 stars, and the others don't come close. My model number is slightly different (Vizio VL370M instead of VO370M), but I wonder if that is enough to justify the difference. I do understand that this model was just released and the sales person did say it was the newest technology, so maybe it is an updated version.

In any case I find the picture to be quite good even on non-hd broadcasts, indeed on par with the 46" Sharp Aquos that we have had for almost 2 years. There are times when I have looked at a standard broadcast and thought it was hd broadcast because the picture is so good. I find the colors to be true and the sound acceptable (certainly not home-theater quality, but, after all they are small speakers). Over all I am very satisfied with the quality and ease of use and how can you go wrong for $530 for a 37" HD TV?

Overall, I have had this TV for three weeks and I have very few complaints. I will say that most people complaints are valid, they just don't bother me.

There is a purplish tint that shows up when there are people on the screen. A slight nuisance, but it doesn't ruin the overall experience.

I selected the Vizio V0370M because of its low energy consumption and its reasonable (low) price. I received a product with a level of quality consistent with the low price paid.

Pros: Great energy consumption at 110W. Attractive case design. Bright screen with vibrant colors. Simple, easy to use remote. Good quality picture with 1080 signal.

Cons: Takes 10 seconds to power on and become fully functional. Sound quality is mediocre. Suffers from a software/firmware issue, which manifests when using the remote's "Guide" button. Use of the "Guide" button can lock out all control from the remote, and all but the power button on the TV (which is fortunate, since the only way to clear the problem is a power cycle). Poor quality rendering of any signal that is not 1080. If using a VCR or standard definition DVD player, expect the picture to look worse than with an old 480 CRT. Skin tones are frequently purple in spite of every effort to adjust controls (including utilizing numerous default settings and custom options). Color issues are generally worse with non-1080 signal sources. No screen aspect ratio button on remote (requires that one go through menus to change setting).

Who knew trying to be "green" and save some green would require such sacrifice.

I tried this on my Sony 46" and it did not do it's thing. It left the screen with streaks. I also tried it on my PC CRT monitor and it left streaks as well. I went out and bought Monster's ScreenClean and it was perfect. Like they say, you get what you paid for.

I found this at Big Lots for $4.00 Item # DC-129P

It works great any produces no streaks when applied with the included lint free shammy. I recommend this over other harsh cleansers. I use it on both my plasma and smaller lcd displays. Can't think of a reason not to use this is you have small kids. I also noticed less dust collecting on the screen of our 34" Samsung Tube Type television. Try it!

I bought a Square Trade warranty on my 42" Envision LCD TV, bought at Staples, a couple of years ago. The warranty was valid until 2010.

While Square Trade could have had me ship this TV to them for repair, when it developed an LCD fault, they decided the TV was too large and bulky to ship, with a big chance that it may very well be destroyed totally in transit.

Also at its age, repair would likely be more expensive than replacement.

On their request, I faxed them a copy of my Staples receipt. They immediately issued a refund for the price of the TV.

One phone call and one fax. That was it.

I could ask for NO better service of a warranty than that.

NOTE: Keep your receipts and copies of your warranty at least as long as the warranty is in effect!

I purchased a square trade warranty for a ltc tv/hd dvd combo 2 years ago and it was good for 5 years. When the hd dvd player went out, the square trade warranty folks responded to my query in less than 2 hours. When I explained that I did not want to ship the tv/dvd player combo in for a refund of purchase price because I was disabled and used the tv for a computer monitor as well as to play dvds, the square trade folks were incredibly compassionate and with simply turing in a statement that the hd dvd player did not work, they refunded a portion of the money within hours so I could purchase a separate player to go with the tv. These folks are incredibly kind, very helpful and make using the warranty very easy and convenient, which is much appreciated as my disability would make it very difficult if I had purchased an in-store warranty. I strongly encourage everyone to purchase a square trade warranty. If you need to make good on the warranty, you will find these folks very easy to deal with. I had purchased a warranty on a computer from another company and they were condesending, took over a year to fix the computer and when it still didn't work right, they basically told me to get lost. Square trade was a pleasure after that negative experience and I will be sure to get Square Trade on any electronics I purchase in the future. Peace and Goodwill.

"This one's a gem" 2009-03-02

I'm really impressed - I looked at so many TVs but kept coming back to this one --boy, am I glad I did. It's a keeper - gorgeous picture, strong tuner, excellent sound, easy to use remote control, lots of ports, works nicely with my panasonic DVD-recorder through the viera link. I am delighted with it. I was concerned that the 32 inch model might be a little too big for the space I had, so I got the 26 and I think I made the right choice. For close-up viewing about 4 - 6 ft away, it's the perfect size. You don't see the artifacts or dot pattern at all. People made some comments about it not having a swivel base, but it's so light, it's very easy to turn if you need to, and the wide viewing angle is excellent, so for the most part, there's really no need to do that. Set up was intuitive and it took less than 10 minutes to be up and running. The QAM tuner is picking up a lot of extra channels I didn't expect. I'm not using a set top box, just a direct cable to tv (also tried Over the Air via antenna - very nice!) The most impressive thing to me is the black level - it has a really a wonderful contrast without screen glare (* the plastic bezel around the screen can show a reflection, if you have a lamp on, but the screen does not). EXcellent picture -- the blacks are so deep, but there is still detail in the shadows. My main quibble with the viewing experience is the inconsistent quality of the cable feed on various channels, but that is NOT a problem with the tv itself.In fact, I've been very impressed that the standard quality holds up as well as it does on this TV - the high def is amazing, but not all programs are broadcast that way. My advice - don't worry about 720 vs 1080p - you're really not missing anything at this scale, unless you're planning to use it as a computer monitor, which I dont recommend. If I were searching for negatives (which I'm not) I'd say the uncorrected yellow tends to have an ever-so-slight greenish tinge, and the color controls to alleviate that shift are limited. Reds tend to be a little saturated out of the box, but that intensity can be tamed easily. And finally, the SD card processing for a slideshow seems a little slow ( but my card had 10 MB images in it vs smaller jpgs, so that may be the reason for the sluggish display). I'm not buying a tv for slideshows, I'm buying it for tv ... and for that purpose, it is a fabulous choice. I'm sorry that Panasonic discontinued this model - it's getting hard to find... I might want another one...

We recently purchase this Panasonic 26" LCD HDTV and couldn't be more pleased. The picture and sound quality are unbelievable. Setup was very simple and the manual easy to follow. The remote is also very user friendly. I purchased this set based on the Consumer Report recommendation and highly recommend it. If you are interested in a 26" HDTV I don't believe you can do better than this one. It's obvious from the minute you take it out of the box it is a high quality set. One suggestion before buying is to first monitor the internet pricing as it fluctuates a great deal on this model. If you are patient you should be able to get it at a good price. I have tried to use company warranties and fight and fight with manufactures. this time i bought a warranty from square trade and held my breath six months later the tv went dead. i reported it 24 hours later i was sent a link saying a refund was approved and a free mailing label to return it 2 days after they received it i got a refund. It can't get better than this !!! I know have 3 warraties with them and today it will be 4 with the one i bought for my replacement TV. great company

I bought my one year warranty through SquareTrade for a 26" Westinghouse LCD. I wanted something beyond my 90 day warranty. It was well worth the $30. After 9 months I was having trouble turning the TV on. It would no longer power on. I filed a claim online and was sent a prepaid box via UPS within 5 days. My Panasonic TC-37LZ85 arrived on 1/12/09. By the end of the month, it began shutting itself down at intermittent intervals. I contacted Panasonic customer support and received no help. By the end of March, I couldn't get it to stay on at all. I contacted Panasonic customer support at least a dozen times by phone, e-mail and chat. Finally on 4/23/09 an authorized Panasonic repairman arrived and changed out the "a-board". It worked great until 5/30/09 and now it's dead again. Panasonic continues to give me lip service and that's all. I'll never buy a Panasonic product again. Tomorrow I'll be buying a Vizio 37" HDTV from Sears. It's not as convenient, but at least I'll be able to take it back and deal with a real live person.

Had one dealer tell me he didn't sell this brand because he considered Panasonic as an "OFF BRAND". If "off brands" always function like this one, my house would be full of the "stuff". This 37" HDTV (LCD) was very easy to set up and test. Only problem is that the remote control and several key buttons that were problematic. Several keys only work intermittently and some not at all. Panasonic Tech Support was quite helpful, though, and walked me through diagnosing the problems, and even taught me a few things about the remote that aren't in the user manual. He gave me directions on how to ask for a replacement remote and open a case # for this problem. And I even got a follow-up email on this Case. Great Tech Support!

Although I work in a technical field and love all the new gadgets and gizmos as they come out, I consider myself on the "trailing edge" of technology. That is, I don't buy the new stuff until it drops considerably in price, whether it be GPS, I-Pods, or HDTV's.

Even this season, with my 42 inch rear projection CRT TV (bought used for $200), I wasn't ready to make the jump to HDTV. My satellite service is in Standard Def, and just saw no reason to go to HDTV....yet.

Well, my trusty 42 inch decided to take a permanent vacation and without a lot of cash (read zero....) budgeted for a new TV, and two teenagers in the house (which elevates TV from a luxury to a necessity), I went about looking for a cheap "interim" TV that would fill in the gap.

Off to WalMart with little or no expectations and I started pricing around.

I live in a small apartment, and although I was initially was hell bent to not go below 42 inches, my lack of liquid assets quickly told me that 42 inches was a bit above my price range.

I found this TV on sale for $398.00. The picture blew away anything else in it's size and price range. And being almost 300.00 cheaper than a comparable 42 inch model, I decided to eat my pride and save some green.

Like others here, I find the whole "eco/green" crap a little out of control, but in the case of this TV the whole ECO thing does two things.

1. The TV is amazingly light. At just over 24 lbs with the stand, this TV is a joy to move around compared to that 42" tank.

2. The TV is EXTREMELY energy efficient. At approx 85W operating and .33W standby (thanks to a slightly annoying amber VIZIO logo that can't be turned off without unplugging....), my kids blow more electricity going to the bathroom than I spend watching my favorite DVD.

The fact that this TV is energy efficient is great, but if the picture is lousy, then it don't mean jack. I mean a TV that I won't watch because it looks like garbage is great on energy efficiency because it's off!!!

Thankfully this is not the case. With a 15000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio and a pretty nice Viewing angle this TV is perfect for my small Apartment Living Room. In fact moving out that 42 inch rear projection on favor of this box actually makes the Living Room look less crowded.

Now some of you may think that 32 inches for a living room is too small, but considering most of us were singing the praises of the "mighty" 27" TV 10 years ago, saying 32" is now too small is a bit disengenuous.

But for larger rooms, you will find yourself spoiled and wish you had a bigger screen. But for my apartment, it's just about perfect.

The one thing I didn't expect is the enhanced DVD viewing performance. Due to the 4:3 contrast ratio of my 42" TV, when I watched widescreen DVD's the actual usable picture size on my old TV was less than the what I get on the 32". So now my DVD's are actually "larger" on my "smaller" TV.

On to HD....Being raised on Standard Def, I thought the hype surrounding HD was just that...Hype....WRONG!!!

For 15 bucks I picked up a cheap "wall mount" antenna that I can use to pick up "off the air" HD broadcasts to watch my weekend football, and all I can say is HOLY COW!!!! Even with the smaller picture, the clarity and detail in HD broadcasts just makes the picture jump out.

Overall, I am shocked at how much I love this TV. It is small enough to transport home without trouble, light enough to place on a cheap 15 dollar TV stand, and the picture is outstanding.

What started out being an "interim" TV for the time being, just may be my size of choice for as long as I live here. At 32" the TV is certainly big enough for comfortable viewing, but not so large as to overshadow the rest of the living room.

At $400 this TV easily falls into the "best bang for the buck" category for HDTV's of any size. Smaller screens just won't cut it for a family room of any size at all, and the price savings is not worth it. 37 inch models are not too common so your choices are limited in this area. The next "common" size is 42" and will easily run you almost double. Also, if you do go to 42" or higher, if you have DVD's or still some "standard def" cable/satellite, the imperfections of standard def will be that much more noticable on a larger screen.

The instruction manual and quick setup guide are very well written, and you will have this TV setup in no time. The TV has a myriad of ways to connect up to various video sources, including two HDMI ports, Component Video, Svideo, SVGA, and coaxial. It even has an audio out that you can output to a set of amplified speakers or inexpensive surround system.

One last thing to keep in mind. This TV is 720P and upscales to 1080i. This is the default resolution of all OTA HD broadcasts. 1080P is used mainly for PS3 and Blueray, plus a few Video on Demand services. So unless you are into Blueray, or PS3, 1080P would be a waste of money for you. Add this to the fact that, as others have mentioned, your ability to differentiate 1080P and 720P on a set of this size is negligible.

In short, if you are looking for a great looking TV for your bedroom or your apartment/condo living room, you really can't go wrong with this model. Especially at this price point.

The combination of Size, Picture Quality, Features, and Price make this as close to a must buy product as I can remember in a long time.

all local channels are free for the HD(which is nice to have)

Fox However is no better than regular with the HD while CBS NBC and others are great depending on the porgram

i see lines traveling up the screen sometimes. However the picture may be bad at times i think it is because of the Cable we have running through the house

Great TV for the price i paid.

Could not pass on the deal for this set,and glad that I didn't. Great Picture and all the features that I wanted. Set-up was a breeze. Would definitely buy VIZIO again.

I got this, please don't laugh at Walmart. My Wife and I are both students and I am both a student and disabled. We got this home and it sets up real easy. We got this to replace our dead HD TV. Our Olevia died a few days ago and we needed to find a TV quickly. We are BOTH impressed. Its lighter than our old one so I was able to carry it in our home and up the stairs. The Picture Quality is quite good considering the price. Its not as good as higher end TV's but its really good for the money!

OK, first let me just get the ecology-friendly "green" crap out of the way, which we probably do not care much about anyway since we just wanna watch the game/movie/show. The new Vizio eco-lines consume roughly 85 watts while running (.33 in standby), which is somewhat less than its predecessors. This will marginally, if at all, effect your electric bill (the switch over from plasma to LCD will save you enough as is), but you can sleep better at night knowing your new green television will save the rainforest for .000000000001 more seconds - that should give the animals plenty of time to duck and cover when the bulldozers come in.

OK, that crap aside, the new Vizio Eco-Line is a considerable improvement over previous models, which were specifically designed for economy and not so much performance. Vizio has done the unthinkable and focused on performance all the while lowering the costs to just about nothing allowing us mere mortals the opportunity (finally!) to purchase a strong 32 screen at a price we can afford. Now keep in mind that the standard resolution on the Vizios is still 720p and not 1080p (see Vizio's Java Series if you want a 32-inch in 1080p)) so it's not true-high definition. The product description states 1080i, but remember that it is only a simulated up-conversion (hence the "i" for interlaced) so it's not all that important. Besides, most human eyes cannot differentiate 1080p in 37-inch screens on down anyway since the resolution is too highly compacted on smaller screens.

Now, the Eco-Line sports a considerably higher contrast ratio (15,000 dynamic) compared to the older models capping out around 2,000. Now, I know contrast ratio is arbitrary to the corporation making the screen, however, they do remain consistent within said companies so a switch from 2,000-15,000 is a quantum leap in quality. The differences between darks and brights is a lot more apparent, giving the picture more differentiation between the colors and presenting a more accurate picture for audiences. The hertz is still 60 Hz over the more popularized 120 Hz, but again, it's a 32' and not a 47' or a 55'.

Now, the 32 Eco-Line Vizio does sport the usual refinements of its predecessors. My personal favorite is how it kept the scratch and impact-resistant screen cover. It can withstand anything short of a direct hit (and no, that is NOT a challenge) from babies throwing small objects to light impact from moving it around. This feature makes the Vizio line a favorite among families with little ones in the house.

Vizio also still retains the bragging right of being one of the (VERY) few television makes still making them in the US. Granted the parts are made in China, but the final products are assembled and finished hear. Sony, Samsung, and Philips still make theirs in Mexico while everyone else pays tribute to the communists.

All in all, the new Vizios have received very positive feedback from the customers I've spoken with whether it was their picture quality, durability and longevity, or the darn fine price. Vizio has leaped over Sony and Samsung in sales as well as achieved the best-buy title from Consumer Report for several years running and is expected to do so if they keep this trend up.

"Good Product, But Bolts Were A Pain!" 2009-08-09

I purchased this product in March 2008. The product works excellent once I got it mounted to the wall. But I would recommend going to a hardware store and buying your own bolts for mounting into the wall. The bolts that came with the mount sheared off while screwing into the wall, and that was with pre-drilled holes. It happened twice. So I threw out the bolts that came with the mount and bought new ones from the hardware store. After buying my own bolts the mounting was easy. Works perfectly with my 32" Sony Bravia. Pulls out well away from wall when I want the TV closer and swivels left and right for angled views.

I bought this mount back when it was silver for a closeout price, and I feel like I got the best possible choice for the money. Even now, at $70 more for the same thing, I would buy again if I found another 46" LCD on the sidewalk.

It does sag a little bit, but it's wrong to blame that on the fact that it's less expensive than other models. That's just plain stoopid. It sags with respect to how far away from the wall it extends, as a DIRECT result of the law of torque, not the quality or the design. It simply extends further out from the wall than other comparable models do, becuase it's supposed to support corner mounting, which it does. Other models sag the same amount at the same distance from the wall.

You don't need a studfinder or a magic wand to find the of the studs. You just need a little 1/16 or 1/8 drill bit. Tap on the wall, guess where the stud is, and start poking little holes until you find the edges of the stud. That back plate is going to cover all your "experimental" pilot holes unless you've been drinking tequila all day and drill the wrong wall. Predrill your actual studs before tapping the lags or you'll be sorry, the lag screws can split them if you don't. If you think there's a chance you have steel studs on your mounting wall, don't buy this or any other wall mount. Buy a floorstanding model or find a realtor.

"Looks great but not the stongest mount out there" 2008-12-11

As others have mentioned, the unit is very nice for the price but the arm on my mount deflected substantially after I first mounted my TV - a 42" plasma. Once I flipped the entire mount over, I was able to correct the problem without needing a replacement.

When I flipped the mount, I was able to keep the angle of the mount relative to the wall small, so it wasn't over extended which I think was the cause of the problem (in my case at least). Think of a right triangle, your tv as the hypotenuse (the longest side), and the wall as one of the other sides. Keep the mount pointed towards the smaller angle.

I would also recommend when mounting your tv, that you try to keep the tv ed on the mounting plate. It seems that if you slide the tv to the left or right too far that the eccentric (off-ed) weight on the arm can also cause it to deflect.

I've had the mount for over a year and haven't had any further difficulties and it looks great...I'm just afraid to move it very much.

Overall, somewhat of a risky investment. It mounts easy and looks great, so if you don't mind taking the gamble it can be a great mount for the price.

We purchased this wall mount for our 52" flat screen. The product specifications state it can hold up to a 60" tv. We double-checked the manual to make sure it was installed properly, but the wall mount isn't very sturdy. It holds the tv up, but even during installation we were very nervous to leave the wall mount to hold the tv on its own. We definitely will NOT use the articulating arm!

I ordered from costlane a couple of days ago because they would give me free expedited shipping but then I got an email saying they were out of stock, I would have to wait 3 weeks, but then i get expedited shipping so it will only take a month to get it. Even though they are still selling them today they don't have them in stock. But they raised the price so maybe if you pay 125 bucks they will be in stock for you.

Edit: This review was not the one for the silver mount for 199 bucks some how my review got moved from the original item to this one. LOL If only there was a place i could get this mount for a monoprice I would order it today.

It's just as good as Consumer Report's had said. I love the picture quality and the clarity is amazing. However, when I switch it off each night on the power strip and then flip it back on, it wants me to program it (language, etc.). I'm trying to avoid the dreaded "phantom load" - where consumer electronics suck electricity even when they're powered off. It was more expensive than other other TVs as well - but definitely worth it.

I've had this TV for around two months and it is a monster -- in a good way. Picture quality, be it standard or HD, is superlative, as is the sound (my other LCD, a Samsung Series 6 32", on the other hand, has poor sound quality). Out of the box, manual in hand, I made some quick, minor adjustments and got just the picture I wanted. Colors are realistic (but can be toned up or down, depending on personal taste), contrast is perfect, blacks are really black. I thought I'd have trouble watching sports such as tennis -- small ball, lots of confusing color and superquick movement --, but there was none. The action is always smooth and crisp, even when I'm not as far away from the TV as I should be. HD picture is superb, to say the least. So lifelike I almost forget I'm looking at a screen.

Although the TV is on during the day (I have it in my home office), I didn't notice any reflections or glare from natural light. For me, no need for a matte screen. I also like that the black frame is non-intrusive. Actually, I quite like the TV's design: simple, functional, with clean lines. The remote control is intuitive and one learns the button layout easily. Menus are easily accessible and settings can be changed in a jiffy. My one tiny bit of criticism goes to the position of the volume and channel buttons (up and down): in every single TV or cable box I've ever owned, the volume buttons are on the left of the remote and the channel, on the right. The Panasonic's remote, for some odd reason, has them the other way around! In the beginning, I switched a lot of channels when I wanted to change the volume, but I've gotten used to this small quirk.

That Panasonic would dedicate so much attention, care and technology to a 37" TV makes life for us -- consumers who want fine quality screens in smaller sizes -- a lot easier and more pleasureable. I highly recommend the 37LZ800 37-inch TV.

I recently purchased Panasonic's Viera TC-37LZ800 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV to replace a Samsung 37 inch HDTV. The Panasoic has much better pitcure quality than the Samsung. The colors are perfect. It has great sound quality and a user-friendly remote. The Samsung that we had before came from Best Buy and they tried to convince me to have them come out and calibrate the tv for a $300 fee. This Panasonic has a perfect pitcure straight out of the box without any expensive calibration. I highly recommend this tv.

I read all the features and LCD TV reviews before making my decision. I selected the Panasonic, though it was more expensive compared to other very good choices, for a number of reasons. Consumer Reports rated it tops in the 37" size category. Many past reviewers gave it overall very high marks with very few below that rating. I was very pleased with past experience with Panasonic products. Also, I believe the Panasonic had larger and higher watt speakers in this LCD TV size range compared to competitors. Overall speaker quality in TVs of this size may be somewhat compromised because of the dimensional compactness of the box and that the 37" may be used in varied locations with different needs: a small family or living room where some would want better speaker quality verses a bedroom setting where just adequate speakers may suffice. The Panasonic speakers were rated higher than the competition in this size range and we have found the speakers for our large bedroom more than adequate.

Having now had the LCD for a couple of months, it is excellent. I have nothing negative to indicate. Basically disconnected the cable from the old tv and hooked it up to the new LCD. We have Verizon Fios and the HDTV programs come in sharp and colors are perfect. Non-HDTV is fine as well. We have made no adjustments at all to any of the settings except fiddling around with the TV format sizing to get the right size picture (and this is a normal thing to be doing with any set). I highly recommend this Panasonic product.

Read many reviews regarding the Samsung LN52A750. Went to local stores to evaluate the LCD against similar competitors Models. The picture quality is excellent along with 240Hz Auto Motion Plus which I found to make a slight difference over the 120Hz. Speakers are average. Overall, for the price, you can't miss.
